Layal, a former architect and designer, pivoted to become a trailblazing Tech Entrepreneur.
During her university years, she founded Lyl Big Designs, a startup that pioneered connecting freelance designers with clients.
Her entrepreneurial acumen shone through when she initiated PiC, an NGO that stood out as a finalist among 394 global initiatives at the Hivos Social Innovation Award in the Netherlands in 2014.
Layal's expertise extends to crowdfunding, having led the Projects Management Department at Zoomaal and establishing herself as a Crowdfunding Expert in the MENA region. She specializes in transforming ideas into operational applications and guiding them towards successful crowdfunding campaigns.
In the field of technology consulting, Layal has carved a niche for herself, particularly in Digital Transformation, ICT, and Cyber Security.
She is currently involved in formulating and implementing Digital Security strategies and frameworks globally, catering to a diverse clientele including academic institutions, professionals, NGOs, government agencies, and private entities. Her commitment to digital rights and security is further exemplified through her training sessions and workshops, focusing on online safety and data/server protection.
Layal's early career was marked by leadership roles in entrepreneurial initiatives. She led multiple editions of Startup Weekend, winning the Startup Weekend Global Editions Competition for SW Beirut Environment. She also contributed as a Startup Digest Curator for Lebanon, a Startup Weekend Global Facilitator, and a Techstars Community Leader.
Recognized for her natural leadership abilities and empathetic approach, Layal excels in translating objectives into sales and marketing strategies to drive results. She is passionate about innovation, sustainability, and empowering others through entrepreneurship and women in business initiatives.
In December 2017, she launched 105hours.com, an online platform designed to connect entrepreneurs with mentors globally. Furthermore, as a co-founder, Layal was instrumental in establishing Cycling Circle and Deghri Messengers, the first bicycle messenger service in the MENA region. Her role as a mentor, coach, judge, speaker, and panelist across various functions demonstrates her commitment to nurturing talent and innovation.
Layal's contributions have been recognized on multiple platforms. She was featured in the "Who is Layal?" campaign by Lebanon's tech women entrepreneurs and was highlighted in the United Nations' Youth Solutions Report 2017 for her work with Moubarmij.
Her achievements include being named a ChangeMaker at the CMX in Dubai by Ashoka (2017), an AMENDS Delegate at Oxford University (2017), and a participant in the TechWomen Program 2017 by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
She was the winner of the #Shabab2030 competition by MBC Hope (Dubai, January 2018), a fellow at ICANN61 in Puerto Rico (March 2018), and was elected as the Stanford AMENDS class representative (2017).
Recently, she completed her Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, graduating with honors and achieving a perfect score on her capstone project.
